Falconbridge Village Fall Fair – Celebrating Who
We Are
Falconbridge Village Fall
Fair initiates a neighborhood tradition, an opportunity to express ourselves
creatively together, as a community. Please join us for fun and refreshments at
the Falconbridge clubhouse on Sunday October 19, 2008, 3-5:30 pm.
Falconbridge Village is an
independent, unofficial association of Falconbridge residents who wish to create
a lively, supportive community for families and individuals of all ages living
in Falconbridge. Our activities provide opportunities to get acquainted, to
share and communicate, to build new friendships, to establish a sense of
extended family, caring, and trust – the “home town” feeling that is a part of
the American dream.
Falconbridge Village is not
affiliated with any other organization in Falconbridge.
With over 1000 residents, our neighborhood can
encompass several independent
organizations with non-competing goals.
We support and applaud the excellent work done in Falconbridge by our
other associations, Falconbridge Community Association, Falconbridge Homeowners
Association, and Community Club of Falconbridge.
choose and cut pictures.
You are invited to bring other art supplies and graphics. Join family members,
kids, new friends, neighbors you’ve just met – create a collage piece with
someone, and we’ll fill up our two-sided 4’ X 8’ “Collage Wall.”
Our title and theme are “Who We Are.”
We will also have sign up
sheets for ongoing and new Falconbridge Village activities.

Writing Group
Cultural Events Group

Travelling Pub:
Every other Friday from 5-6:30 pm, you are
invited to join your neighbors for drinks and nibbles.
Bring whatever you’d like to drink. The pub meets in a different home
each time. The host provides ice,
glasses, and a simple nibble or two (e.g., popcorn).
A few days before each session, we send the location to the e-mail list.

New
Activities
Falconbridge Village is launching a
Project Compassion support team program this Fall. This program
helps neighbors to help neighbors in
dealing with the day to day challenges of having a
serious health issue, or
caring for someone in your household with a serious issue. The team approach,
for which orientation is now available online, is much easier and more efficient
over the long term than working in an uncoordinated way with individual
neighbors and friends. It avoids the embarrassment of asking for help, the
drop-off of help after a short time, and the confusion of wanting to help but
not knowing what kind of help is most needed. Support teams aid with activities,
errands, tasks, social contacts, food – things that neighbors and friends can
and often do provide. Email
falvillage@mindspring.com
for more information on joining our neighborhood team or requesting team
support.
Community Center without Walls
Falconbridge Village is
planning to establish the opportunity for people to “meet” via telephone
conference calls, every week or two, without having to leave the house -- to
share or discuss a variety of topics such as: support
groups, current events, event planning, special interests or hobbies -- whatever
a group of 3-10 Falconbridge residents might be interested in taking up. Please
e-mail
Falvillage@mindspring.com
with your suggestions and interests.
